Capacity building

CEP brings a participatory worldview to our work. Effective stakeholder engagement and public participation are often critical to the successful delivery of work for many of our clients, through facilitating workshops to running major engagement programmes. This is linked to the strong capacity building and training component of our work. We specialise in providing a 'critical friend' role in much of our work and in so doing help in-house staff to undertake projects and tasks more effectively and efficiently.

We collaborate Imperial College London School of Professional Development in delivering highly successful CPD courses. We also incorporate capacity building into much of our work with clients and run tailor-made in-house training courses for agencies, companies and local authorities.

Science and Sense: Using knowledge effectively to address climate change - training course with Imperial College London

University of London distance learning masters MSc environmental management modules: C107 Environmental Assessment (including SEA and EIA) and C108 Environmental Auditing prepared for the University of London (2009 - 2011).

Training course for officers from all the London Boroughs on the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of local Implementation Plans (LIPs). Undertaken for London Councils, 2010.

SEA Implementation in Practice - training course with Imperial College London (offered at least
annually since 2004).

Advanced SEA: Learning from Experience, Looking Forward - training course with Imperial College London
