Social research
CEP specialises in undertaking social research using a range of techniques for gathering information on the
relationships between people and the environment, linking the physical with the social and psychological (e.g.
social exclusion and vulnerability to environmental hazards such as flooding). We employ robust quantitative
and qualitative research techniques and analysis, such as case studies, surveys, structured and
semi-structured interviews and focus groups.
Example projects include:
Community Resilience Research: theoretical research and analysis of UK community
resilience. Final Report, Appendix, Evidence Review and Case Study Report. For Cabinet Office
and DSTL (with Kingston University). 2011.
Social Dimensions of Climate Change - Armenia, Moldova and Azerbaijan. For the World Bank
