Training
and
capacity
building

One of our approaches is to improve
capacity within public sector organisations to undertake strategy development, SEAs and SAs in-house.
To this end, we have designed and delivered a range of
successful
training courses and regularly
contribute to conferences and seminars internationally.
In particular we run a number of short courses, including our very popular three-day SEA: Implementation in
Practice training course in association in Imperial College London Centre
for Continuing Professional Development at least once or twice a year and
recently a successful two-day course on
Climate Change Adaptation: Drivers, Barriers and
Strategy.
(see
http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/cpd/courses/subject/environmental) .
We are also able to
offer training tailored to the particular needs of an individual or group
of organisations and authorities as well as a bespoke service combining, for example:
in-house capacity building; assistance with developing the assessment
methodology and process; the use of assessment in strategy development; participation as part of environmental decision-making
processes; and call-on advice and quality assurance.
