What we do

We provide a comprehensive service in the following areas:

bullet

Assessment and appraisal: We provide decision-makers with the information they need by using appraisal tools and techniques to assess and evaluate the effects and implications of policies, plans, programmes and projects.

bullet

Spatial planning and management: Promoting sustainable development by adopting an integrated and participatory approach to environmental planning and management.

bullet

Participation, consultation and social research: We undertake social research and evaluation in the field of sustainability. We provide practical advice on the design and management of participation and consultation processes for a wide range of projects and plans.

bullet

Policy and decision-making: Extensive experience of undertaking analyses of policy and legislation at EU,  UK and international levels and providing expert advice in relation to EIA, SEA, sustainability assessment, futures thinking and public participation.

bullet

Advice: We provide practical advice across the topics above, especially advice on assessment approaches and methodologies, strategy development, climate change adaptation, public engagement, evaluation of research and policy, critical review of EIA/SEA documents and expert evidence.

bullet

Training and capacity building: One of our approaches is to improve capacity within public sector organisations to undertake strategy development, SEAs and SAs in-house.  To this end, we have a well-established training programme run in conjunction with Imperial College London Continuing Professional Development Centre.
