Senior Consultant

Environmental / social science / sustainability specialists

Based London SE1

We are seeking an exceptional candidate with at least 4-5 years' relevant work experience who shares our approach and vision.

The successful applicant is likely to have an excellent academic record with a natural science or social science degree (e.g. biology, ecology, environmental science, marine / earth science, geography, psychology, sociology, social anthropology, politics, social research methods) plus a related second degree.

Experience within the environmental and/or sustainability fields is essential and expertise in more than one of the following would be an advantage: impact assessment (e.g. environmental, social, health); evaluation of process and practice; flood risk / water management; climate change adaptation; community resilience and social vulnerability; ecosystem services / natural capital; stakeholder engagement, participation and public dialogue; social research, including qualitative and/or quantitative methods; and environmental policy analysis and legislation at UK and/or EU levels.  We will be particularly interested to hear from candidates with some European policy knowledge / experience.

You will have a commitment to and enthusiasm for the work we undertake and a proven adaptability to new challenges.  Excellent project management, communication (written and verbal) and research skills are essential.  Experience of working with public sector institutions, along with an appreciation of the demands of working in a small consultancy, will be a strong advantage.  While the working language for the post is English, skills in other European language(s) would be beneficial. 

 Salary range: £30,000-£35,000 depending on experience.

Working hours: Full time, some flexibility in working hours possible.

Whilst a London base is likely to be preferred for this post, a Bristol or Glasgow base may also be considered.

We are also interested in hearing from suitability experienced independent consultants that meet the requirements above and are available to work on specific contracts.

Consultant

We are seeking a Consultant to provide wide-ranging support to our team.  Examples of the work will include: conducting research, organising workshops/meetings, supporting the preparation of tenders and reports, and undertaking project-related administration.
