ReMEDIES Boater Behaviour Survey

The Boater Behaviour Survey as part of CEP’s research for the Life ReMEDIES Project is now live

CEP is seeking a range of recreational boaters to take part in a survey about boating practices and sea grass as part of the LIFE Recreation ReMEDIES project.

LIFE Recreation ReMEDIES is a four-year marine conservation partnership project working to Save Our Seabed at five Special Areas of Conservation along England’s south coast, through seagrass restoration, education and innovation. It is funded by the EU LIFE programme and led by Natural England in partnership with Marine Conservation Society, Ocean Conservation Trust, Plymouth City Council/Tamar Estuaries Consultative Forum and Royal Yachting Association.

The project is looking at the behaviours of people who boat for recreation specifically focussing on anchoring and mooring in seagrass. We are focusing on two special areas of conservation Plymouth Sound & Estuaries and Solent Maritime – Isle of Wight and would like to hear from people who go boating for recreation in these areas.

New European Commission survey on an Environmental Implementation Portal - get involved!

European Commission publishes a new public survey designed by CEP on developing an Environmental Implementation Portal (EIP) to help understand users’ needs

The EU collects and disseminates a significant amount of information in relation to the implementation of its environmental policies and laws, including data and indicators, regular reports on implementation, guidance documents and sharing of good practices, for example.  Many users have commented that this kind of information is difficult to find because there is no “one stop shop” for policy makers, stakeholders and the interested public.

CEP is working on a feasibility study on the development and maintenance of an EU Environmental Implementation Portal (EIP) with colleagues at Milieu, Bilbomatica and Wood plc.  This study will test assumptions about the need for and potential benefits of an EIP for different potential users, as well as investigating the technical and resource requirements.

As part of this study, the European Commission has launched an online survey to collect information on users’ needs, interests, experiences and perceptions when accessing environmental information online.  Users might include those who use environmental information in a professional capacity, as well as the wider interested public.

The survey was designed by CEP, and the results will be used by the Commission to provide decision makers with the necessary information about the potential need for and benefits of an EIP to help determine whether it is worth doing: your views are important.

The survey is voluntary and anonymous, and it takes about 10 minutes to complete. Most of the questions are multiple choice.

CEP Survey on Local Partnerships

Survey on local partnerships and the delivery of economic, social and environmental benefits

The Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) is seeking information on local partnerships and the delivery of economic, health and environmental benefits. Defra has commissioned independent research consultancy, Collingwood Environmental Planning (with its partners the Ecosystems Knowledge Network and New Economics Foundation) to undertake a survey on this topic.

The survey is aimed at people involved in organisations or partnerships in England working below the national level to achieve economic, health or environmental outcomes. We are really keen to hear from a range of economic, health and environmental partnerships.

The results of the survey will be used by Defra to find ways to further increase the value of local partnerships’ contribution to delivering the 25 Year Environment Plan. 

Your responses will be really valuable. The survey is voluntary and takes about 15 minutes to complete.  Most of the questions are multiple choice and do not ask for personally identifiable data.
